"Daisy Chains"
I made this as a birthday card for my best friend. Have to hope she doesn't see it on the blog before her birthday, but I wanted to enter it for this month's Stamping Sensations challenge, which has the theme of "friendship"! The sentiment is stamped in black archival and heat-embossed with clear holographic powder before diecutting. Other frames are punched and diecut, all from white card. The wild flower frame is coloured with different inks, while each of the other frames is coloured more uniformly using just one or two of the same colours.The whole thing is mounted over some thick, sparkly white ribbon using foam tape to raise it up, and individual plastic daisies are woven through the frame to look like a daisy chain.

ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased I'm not the only one who remembers those days as always being hot and sunny, so what happened to the UK weather ?
I remember daisy chains is well, but I'm pleased to say my children and grandchildren still make them so at least we have passed some traditional things on to them.
I don't think I've seen that sentiment from Indigo Blue, but isn't it just perfect I look so pretty surrounded by little flowers.

ReplyDeleteYes, I loved making daisy chains too and I am pleased to say that my daughters still enjoy making them now even though they are teenagers. Just proves that it is the simple things that can bring us so much joy.

A very fine card. Also in Denmark we made daisy chains when I was a child, and you can still see mothers making then together with their children(girls.

Thank you so much for this beautiful card and my scrummy lunch and goodies too. Daisy's always remind me of when I was in P7 and it was a really hot Summers Day and our teacher decided to let us sit outside in the sun after lunch.....merely because she wanted to top up her tan, lol. But we sat on the grass making daisy chains all afternoon. That was a really lovely way to spend an afternoon in school. Lee x
