Button Trees

A little bit of fun with Tatty Button's Button Tree...

"Blue Buttons"

I enjoy working with monochromes. The first card is blue! These were all made by stamping the button tree in black archival and heat-embossing in clear before colouring the buttons with different coloured promarkers. Distress inks are lightly sponged onto the background using torn paper for a mask, giving a cloudy mountains effect. Some real buttons are added to the tree with Pinflair, which is a great, flexible glue for odd-shaped embellishments. Many of the buttons are just cheap, black, plastic ones which have been hand-decorated.

"Red"

Background papers used are all from magazine freebies, and holographic card is diecut to make the snowflakes, swirls and poinsettias.

"Green"

Ribbon and a sentiment add the finishing touches.

"Purple"

This last card has some alcohol-inked glossy card for a background. You might recognise it from an earlier project - I had some left over and never throw anything away :-)

  3. Well if that isn't the coolest thing to do with buttons. Unbelievable monochromatic layouts here and I love that you coordinate the sky in the background too! :)

  6. HEY!!!! There's something not right here! Those trees are straight!!! Completely and utterly straight and perfect. Pfft!! Well, I bet the button tree card you got in the post gave you a creek in your neck, lol. Im a total disaster. These cards are the cards I had in my head when I began making mine.....but sadly the real thing came out looking like a Christmas card made by a 3 year old in play school. But hey....it gave you a giggle. These are beautiful Maddy. Lee x
